First Day of College

I’m 9 weeks into my first year of college reflecting back on the first day and boy have I changed. The first week of college was weird. It was syllabus week so we didn’t really get homework assigned until Wednesday and Thursday which was cool but that’s always how syllabus week goes. I began my first day of classes with a 9AM Calc for Business course so that was fun. Realizing that I had never taken pre-calc and that my SAT scores placed me into this course was a bit scary and I thought several times about dropping the class, but didn’t. Now, I’m 9 weeks in and can proudly say that I have an A in the course. Then I went to English 101 at 11AM. That was fun. My teacher is lovely. I then had a break from 12-4PM in which I went back to my room in White Pine and took a well deserved nap. I finished my day with Intro To The Arts from 4-5:15 and Econ 101 from 5:30-6:45. Those classes aren’t the most enjoyable since they’re so late in the day but I make the most of it. I’m lucky to have just once class on Tuesday/Thursday and it’s Sociology 101 from 9:30-10:45 and it’s an enjoyable course so I go and take notes as any good student should. I highly recommend attending all of your classes every day for the semester unless you absolutely can’t go because you truly learn a lot of material in each class, each day. So far I love it here in Reno, NV and am excited to finish up my first semester in college!

Freshman Year Packing List

Move-In Day!

It was the morning of August 20th and it was time to move into my dorm room and meet my roommate for the first time! It was all so exciting. As we unloaded our car, about 5 people immediately came up behind us, said good morning and took my bags and things up to my room, leaving nothing behind for my parents and I to carry, how nice! It was crazy how fast things were all happening, but shortly after going up to my 3rd floor room, putting my bedding on my bed, and packing my backpack, it was time for orientation. Although my parents and I bailed halfway through, I'm sure it was very informational and worth attending so don't miss yours! lol. In my next post I'll be making a list of things to pack/buy before move-in day (essentials) so look out for that in the next few hours.

New Blog!

A new blog! Eeeeeep! First things first, if you're new to my blogs, I welcome you with open arms and an open heart! I'm so glad that you're here. To start things off, here's a little bit about me. My name is MeganAmanda Risso and I'm 18 years old. I was born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii and am now attending college at the University of Nevada, Reno. I'm currently studying to be a Marketing major with a minor in Psychology. My favorite color is pink and I have the biggest obsession with elephants, Vera Bradley, and writing letters/making lists for everything. With that said, I couldn't be more excited to start this new blog. I'm doing this mainly so that I can look back at my blogs years from now and reminisce, but also for my viewers who are attending college, as well as those who aspire to attend college in the near future. On this blog, I will be writing about my experiences in Greek Life, as a freshman, life in the dorms, as well as reviewing my professors/classes, and giving tips as I learn more along the way. I hope you enjoy reading about my life here in Reno!
Stay tuned for posts about my first day of college, my first college football game, sorority rush week, moving into the dorms, and my first college exam! (all very exciting!)
                             XOXO,
                                      Megan
